This was one of the best games of the year. Our field is finished and we had a total of 15 people out to try it out. This included IsJonas who made the long trek up from Nebraska to play with us. Thanks IsJonas for coming! We also had a nice size group of people make it up from Eau Claire. I don't think we'll have a larger group this year so this was a great opportunity to really test out our field to really see it's potential. Honestly I think the amount of people we had on the field made it extremely challenging to move at all. This field is probably around a ten man sized field. Other than the field we also played some Civil War in the field and played some scenario ball in the woods in it's entirety. This ended up being a great day of paintball with great weather. I hope next months game is just as great!

We have been working throughout the month of June and July to make improvements to the existing field and make additions. We framed out the Command Post on the top of the hill for Burlap and added shooting windows. We are still working on the other hill bunkers but the plan is to frame those slightly as well for burlap. We also started digging an in ground fighting position on the front of the top of the hill. You will be able to stand inside of this and look out 2 front windows while be completely enclosed with walls and a roof. This has taken up the majority of our time as the digging is a lot of work.

A large group of us all got together and continued work on the field. We completed a tremendous amount of work. The hill has now been completely delimbed, and almost all of the bunkers have been built. The perimeter has been put up using stakes with orange flourecent paint. We started on the hill and built the first Command Post, aka the Pine Needle Palace. This bunker was built from branches, pine needles, and is chest high. We also put togeher a command post on the bottom of the hill, aka the Burlap Bungalow, using logs as a frame and cut open burlap sacks for walls. This also has branches and pine needles to fill in the base. In addition to the command posts we put up about 20 other bunkers using a combination of logs, branches, burlap sacks, pine needles, tires, and of course tender loving care. There are only a few bunkers left on the hill we need to build up a little more and the field will be complete.

Three of us went out to the field tonight and started working on debranching the lower limbs on the trees for our first designated course. We only worked for an hour until we ran out of light to work but managed to accomplish quite a bit. We have roughly the entire bottom half of the field delimbed. We are going to have to finish the top half going up the hill along with a few misc. trees here and there. After that is done we need to get all of the branches picked up and hauled over to a pile on the edge of the field and then begin bunker construction.

A couple of us got together at the field and came up with a basic rough plan to begin work on our first field. There is a lot of work to do but should be accomplished fairly quickly with a decent group of people.
